Wondering about that Job you applied for...??

So today is an epic fail kind of Monday... I received, by email no less, 5 rejection letters. I just finished my bachelors degree in December. During my 6 years that it took me to get my degree I had three children, my husband deployed 3 times, and we moved from Europe, to Hawaii, to Louisiana, to Oklahoma and finally to North Carolina....2 of those moves I coordinated the movers on my own, an this last one, we actually did on our own. So needless to say I didn't always focus on my school work as much as I could have. But when you have to play mommy and daddy for that majority of time, and try to make sure everything else was running smoothly, the studies slid to the back burner. So I didn't graduate at the top of my class.
Who knew having at 3.5 or better was a prerequisite for a job. Or that volunteering for the Family readiness groups and taking care of your family are not valued pieces of experience... So over the last three months I have submitted at least 40+ resumes and applications ranging from managerial to entry level and even retail hourly positions.
One by one either no response, or went in another direction...blah blah blah.
However today was a smack in the face I feel...In one particular company I actually applied for 2 positions. One hourly and one next level supervisory. The response I got was that while my experience and resume were impressive, I was over qualified for the hourly position, and yet underqualified for the next level supervisory position. So you have too much experience for Job A but you are not qualified for Job A's supervisor....
Next one retail, we went with a better qualifed candidate...I have more than 3 years of experience in retail sales, 1 job was a commision based program where I was consistently a top earner.
One finance job, I was barely qualified for so I can understand that, but onther was a work from home CSR job...my last job during school was this exact position!!!
I have had several responses saying that they weren't hiring at this time, but actively recruiting their applicant pool for future positions and my resume would be kept on file.
I'm at a loss..I chose Psychology for my degree, and in hindsight would not go there again. I would go with a technical or science degree. So that now leaves me with what to do next....
First off whine...getting it all out of my system. A google search revealed to me that "why won't they hire me" yeilds hundreds of thousands of results over the last three years of people who are still looking with no job. Some have been looking for a few years and with a BA degree are working at McDonalds for minimum wage. The consensus is that especially for retail...why hire the one you have to pay more when you can higher the one you can pay the least! Makes sense but come on!!!
Next make a choice...our family has one vehicle and a soldier who never has a certain time in which he will be home, that severely limits what kinds of jobs I can do...minimum wage jobs won't even cover the after school care for our three kids, and our budget is stretched so thin that we can afford to pay for me to work! Sad thought huh...
Go back for a masters, change fields and re educate? join the military? Well thanks to the economy every one headed for the military so they lowered the age limit as of Jan 1 you are TOO OLD to join the army if you are over 30! I'm 31!
I went as far as checking into plasma donation to get some extra cash...nope can't do that  because they cannot accurately describe my tattoo...its a half sleeve with 3 butterflies, 5 flowers, and asian water, all a cover up for a bad tribal armband. But that's not specific enough. They cannot guarantee that I will add to it and it not be noticed. they aren't allowed to take pictures either. Go figure.
So I can't donate, I can't join the military, I can't go work at the mall, I cant work as a secretary, I can't work as a manager...what's left? Anyone got any ideas??? let me know if you do.
Next I'm considering lateral entry for teaching...another year of school.
A masters in Criminal justice, with a dual MS in business management.
New bachelors program in something completely different....
My brain is fried and my pride is hurt, and my confidence is now lacking...time to get rid of the rest of the whining emotions and start all over again tomorrow. It is a new day...
